On Sunday, my two sisters were off in their own little world of crabbiness, my mom and I had a wonderful time going on a makeup spree. There was a sales at Lancome at Macy’s and if you spend over $35, you get a bunch of free stuff and my mom got two eyeshadow singles which were a shimmery coral, pink and a shimmery medium brown. Then the free things were all hers except for the bronzer cream and a travel size makeup remover. The remover works great and I still need to try the bronzer. We also spent a long time at the MAC counter in Macy’s and bought some concealers. I bought a Moisture Cover in NW 25 for $17 and I’ve been using it everyday and it works great for covering redness and enough coverage for dark circles while being light weight. Even though it was Mother’s Day, my mom bought me my favorite perfume Versace Bright Crystal and a new scent from Bath & Body called Wild Berry Tulips which smells delicious.

After our makeup shopping spree, we headed over to Target and I bought a hair volumizer and this one is from Loreal for $6. I’ve tried it and it does give some amount of volume that lasts all day but it does dry out your roots. Also, from today at Wal-Mart, I decided to pick up and try a Wet n’ Wile eyeshadow palette, this one is in Sweet As Candy for $3. It has an off white highlight, a light to medium brown, and a sheer shimmery pink. I swatched the eyeshadows and they are pretty creamy and pigmented. I also picked up a Revlon Grow Luscious Lash mascara for $5 which was used by Sam, a makeup artist from PixiWoo on Youtube. The mascara is said to give lashes volume and length while strengthen them, however, I haven’t tried it yet.

The last thing is a makeup look I did over the weekend of a pinky, coral, and lavender eye along with an outfit of the day. A plain white tank top with a purple floral scarf with jeans ripped jeans and some gladiator sandals with a bun.

My very first Ulta haul! So many of the products I purchased were on sale so I got all of these products for less than $35! I’ve been looking for a nice, smokey, plumy purple eyeshadow for spring and summer so I found some sale products from Ulta.

-SALE Ulta Quad in Girly Girl which has a great chocolate brown, a shimmery red, brown, maroon, a frosty light pink, and a pale white highlight. I’ve swatched all of the colors and the brown is not that pigmented but I love the red brown highlight eyeshadows.

-SALE Ulta single eyeshadow in plum noir which is a true disco purple is how I would describe it. It is exactly like Urban Decay’s Ransom, since I have the ransom color in a 24/7 eyeliner, I’ll set it with this plum eyeshadow.

-SALE Neutroguena deep clean shine control oil blotters

-SALE Pond’s towelettes to branch out on makeup remover wipes instead of my amazing Neutroguena wipes

-NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in nude peach which is quite a bright pigmented gloss which I did not expect. I tried it on and it’s freaken bright with just the gloss alone. I just don’t think it goes well with my skin color.

-a simple nail buffer for a dollar

SAMPLES- I got 3 samples, one was my favorite perfume which is Versace Bright Crystal, then Viva La Juicy sample, and a DDF protective eye cream since my eyes have been very dry lately with flaky skin.

I recently posted a dupe for MAC’s Reel Sexy Dynamic Duo #1 which is a shimmer coral and a medium purple, but it has been sold out everywhere I go, so I bought a 6 eyeshadow disk from the Sephora collection and it’s so pretty that I have been wearing it everyday. I have been using the top right pinky, coral color on my lid and the bottom darker purple on my outer corner and using the lavendar lilac to blend and the dark gray to smoke the outer corner a bit and looks amazing.

I have also been on the search for forever now to find the right moisturizer. I have been using the Proactiv green tea moisturizer for years but its not moisturizing enough and it’s so expensive, I have tried the Clinique dramatically moisturizing lotion and it’s too greasy for my skin, the Bare Minerals purely nourishing moisturizer for combination skin and it has a scent that my skin won’t get use to, then finally I decided to pick up the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel and it’s freaken PERFECT! It has the right amount of moisture for my combination skin where it’s very oily around my forehead and cheeks and very very dry on my nose and chin. I bought the travel size one for $13 compared to the pump bottle for $24.

I also decided to pick up an Essie nail polish finally in the color Cute as a Button, a hot pink, coral color which is fantastic for spring and summer. And I let my boo boo painted my nail and I think he did a great job.

My kids even spoiled me this year as well, while I was gone on Thursday, the other tutors had them made me birthday cards and one of them said Happy 26th Birthday, how cute.

Then yesterday, it was my boo boo’s turn to take me out. I came home from class and he rang the door and surprised me with a HUGE bouquet of colorful, bright flowers! My favorite colors! He is so cute and I’m so lucky and spoiled this year.

Aside from my birthday which is now over, I’ve been enjoying my art classes especially my weaving class. We have been making and duplicating weave design and actually making it on a loom. Here’s is a picture of my weave design on Weave Maker of a hoodstooth design.

Also, I used up my $100 Sephora gift card already, well I went over about $10 but here is what I bought. I’ve been trying to branch out on my skincare and a lot of Youtubers recommend the all organic toner from Dickinson’s original witch hazel. I’ve been using it for a couple of days and I have noticed that my skin is a lot softer and the toner is said to minimize pores, condition and balance skin which is working great for me. I bought a back up Smashbox BB Cream in light and I also wanted to try a new mascara that will lengthen and volumize at the same time as being dark black and waterproof and the closest one I’ve found is Tarte’s waterproof mascara Lights, Cameras, and Splashes and it has been working amazingly for me, my favorite mascara ever.

Day 1 of celebration Thursday, all you can eat sushi with my parents and little sister!

Day 2 of celebration Friday morning, dimsum with my co workers and a gigantic free Starbucks TREINTA size drink from my lovely friend and her funny co workers.

Day 2 nighttime, dinner with my cousins at BJ’s and lots of love! My cousins chipped in to get me a $100 gift card to my favorite store of course, SEPHORA! I swear I was going to go shopping the next day if I didn’t have work. My outfit was my leaf motif tank top from Wet Seal, my knitted teal infinity scarf, with my Cotton On black blazer over some skinny jeans and my gray booty heels. Thank you everyone who came to dinner.

Day 3 of celebration was actually right at midnight when my boo boo came over and surprised me and spent my last minutes of being 20 years old. He told me to close my eyes and put out my hands and out came a huge Sephora bag! I ripped it open and saw the NAKED 2 palette and a NARS illuminator box and screamed! I hugged him so tightly and continuously kissed him thank you. It just meant so much to me, not even the gifts, but how he listens to me and knows my interests and has the consideration and thoughtfulness to come at midnight, so thankful for having him in my life. He also surprised me at work Saturday morning with another edible arrangement, this time with all chocolate covered strawberries and 3 huge balloons!

The NAKED 2 palette I used right away! I was swatching it before bed and I really love using CHOPPER, TEASE, BUSTED, and YDK and FOXY. The NARS illuminator in Super Orgasm is gorgeous! The popular Orgasm is more a pinky color while I think the Super Orgasm has a lighter pink but with a peachy orange color that works better on me. I love the little lipgloss lip junkie that comes with the NAKED 2 palette, it’s a cooling and plumping lipgloss with a great universal color.

Day 3 continuing the celebration!I decided to wear my new blue button tank top with flaps on the back so it was a bit breezy with a gray cardigan and my black leather jacket over with skinny jeans and black combat  boots and my black and gold tiny belt.

My amazing best friend Tiffanie, that’s right with an I E, took me out after work for the whole day! To do what you may ask, the only thing we always do… SHOP & EAT! We went to Glendale Galleria and the Americana across the street and spent and ate. I used my Sephora gift card right away! I bought the Sephora Classic Collection eyeliner #17 brush, the Sephora Collection Sculpting Disk in Sunset Dance, the mini Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara, and I got a free Sugar mini lip duo for my birthday and free samples! I also bought a sheer purple, floral tank top from Forever 21 for the spring.

Tiffanie spent so much time and effort planning everything and finding my gifts! She’s just amazing, there are no words to describe her sincerity. She bought me delicious LUSH products, one is a scrub and two facial products that smell so yummy! And some how, my outfit of the night went from cute to embarrassing with my birthday glasses and tiara  and amazing balloons!

Day 4 and 5 of my birthday celebration are coming up Sunday and Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so memorable and my room is filled with so many balloons it’s going to look like the house in UP.

Going along with things I’ve bought, I have always seen the Benefit Dr. Feel Good balm in every Sephora and have always sampled it but never really got my hands on one because I thought it was so pricey for a balm for $28. I was shopping in the Santa Monica Promenade, a great place to shop at, and I decided to buy it. Well, decided to buy but my boo boo was so quick and sneaky that he bought it for me. As I gave the cashier my Beauty Insider card for points, my boo boo whipped out his card to slide it and I was just in awe and speechless and was just so confused about what just happened, but that was sweet and sneaky of him, I have to get him back now. However, I’ve been using this balm quite a few times and it has a lemony, herbal smell and for the difference in how my face looks and feels, it’s not subtle changes but you can feel the difference. The balm is suppose to make your skin feel more refreshed, fill in and make lines small and smoother and an overall better appearance and I wanted to use this product mainly for the spring/summer weather when my makeup starts to wear off from sweat and the heat because you are suppose to set this over your makeup for a better appearance.

The next thing I bought while in Santa Monica was a birthday gift to myself and it’s this cute $70 bag from Urban Outfitters and I love it! Even though this is the most I’ve ever spent on a purse, I splurged since it is my birthday, that’s my only justification and it’s so dam cute! It’s really more a mauve, light brown color, but my camera turned it a cream, camel color.

The last thing I bought was actually from Forever 21 in Old Town Pasadena. I was there a week ago and found this nice satin like blue tank top with buttons and a flaps on the back for $16. I tried on the last large and it was way too big and wanted a medium and the only medium I found was on the display. I wanted to buy it off of the display but the manager didn’t let me but was nice enough to call me when they will take off the display and they finally did yesterday! I was so excited when I got their phone call and rushed there after class all giddy and perky.

Aside from my shopping, I have been obsessed with a few of my makeup products especially these.

The first is my Suave dry shampoo which is amazing. I have two, one in my room and one in my purse. My first opinions about this products wasn’t too good but after a few trials and on different ways on applying it, I’ve been loving this! My hair has been really oily and flat, I guess it’s because I haven’t had a haircut in almost a year, but this dry shampoo has been given my hair the right amount of volume and takes away the oil. It’s only $3 but I just bought my sister the Suave dry shampoo with Keratin for only $2 and the smell is amazing, it’s like lemons! I love the Suave dry shampoo way more than the Tresseme one for $5.

The next product, or products, are my oil blotters from Clean&Clear for $5 and from E.L.F for only $1. The Clean&Clear is obviously the better one that absorbs way more oil without drying and messing up your makeup and I use this when my face is really oily, especially when it’s hot outside and I use the E.L.F. dollar ones when I just need a little touch up then I apply some pressed powder after.

Since it’s spring and almost summer, I’ve been looking for illuminators and highlighters to try out and found that a pinky, gold color works best with my skin color and my favorite has been the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl. I dab this on my cheekbones after I touch up and it gives my skin a very pretty glow. I really want to try the NARS illuminator in Orgasm and see how they compare. Alone, the Girl Meets Pearl is $28, but I got it in the kit along with the Benefit Porefessional face primer and the Erase Paste concealer all 3 products for $31!

My next favorite has been my Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait because it’s a peachy pink with gold shimmer and it’s the perfect amount of color for me because I hate lip products, I just don’t see myself wearing lipsticks or any color on my lips. However, I have been noticing that my lips are quite nude and pale in this weird gloomy weather so whenever I see that I need a pick me up, I got straight to my lip butter.

My last favorite product is my Milani baked blush in Luminoso which is a golden peachy color and it looks great on my skin color. I have been using this more than my E.L.F. candid coral and I think this works better with my skin color because I have a yellow undertone and corals and peaches compliment it.

I’m currently in spring quarter right now and I have 3 amazing art classes and one sociology class and I’ve been really enjoying them, especially art of course. For my history of costume art class I had to go to FIDM’s 20th Annual Motion Picture Costume Exhibition and I wasn’t allowed to take pictures because security was on my ass, but I snuck a quick one with my phone of this gorgeous ball gown of the White Queen. There were so many beautiful costumes made and I wanted to take pictures of all them, and if anyone wants to go it’s at FIDM in LA and it’s free admission. I took my two friends along with me and we had an amazing time looking at each costume.

And I sense a white fabric theme going on here so I might as well post an outfit picture. I recently bought a double sheer half button up tank top from Forever 21 for $20, it was the last one in size large that my friend actually got and didn’t like so I tried it on and bought it on the spot. I accessorized it with my 3 tiered plate gold necklace that I bought from a jewelry designer at Melrose Trading Place and tucked the top into my skinny jeans and added my black and gold skinny belt with my black combat boots.

But here are a few things that I bought in the past week.

The first is the new Revlon 3D Volume mascara and I honestly think this new mascara is crap. It says volume, but it makes your eyelashes so thin, and long, but there is absolutely no volume, mainly just thin length. The first time I tried this mascara, my eyelashes look like there are none and there is no waterproof formula for this so I give this mascara thumbs down and wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The next thing I bought I have been searching forever for! I have a sheer, loose, navy button up blouse from Cotton On and I’ve been wanting another one in another color but I haven’t been able to find the right now. They have all been too shear, too short or too much designs going on with pockets, fringes, buttons, studs and other crap. However, I went to Gossip in Pasadena and found this beauty of an off white blouse for $28. It’s going to look so a pretty during spring.

Today, I went to Sephora and had a blast. My boo boo came with me and I’ve been teaching him about makeup so I gave him challenges and products to find throughout Sephora without my help and he aced them all. His first challenge was to find the chocolate bronzer, the Too-Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer, then orgasm, the NARS Orgasm blush, and then my favorite perfume, Versace Bright Crystal. The Sephora employees kept a close eye on him while he was running around the store like crazy. It was amusing and I found the things I wanted to buy. The first was a great eyelash curler, I’ve been using the E.L.F. one dollar curler and that broke on me and I’ve been using my back up curler from Maybelline which works fine, but not all that great. So I finally decided to spend more money and get the Tarte eyelash curler and this one came with a free sample of their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara for only $15! I’ve been seeing a lot of great reviews on this mascara and can’t wait to try it. I also bought the Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer for combination skin in replacement for my Clinique dramatically moisturizing lotion because it’s making my skin too oily and I wanted to try other things to see if it will work for my skin type better. It was $28.

After our shopping spree with makeup for me and shoes for him, we went to Old Town Pasadena for some sushi for dinner and walked around to Blicks art supply and I was shocked when I found a LUSH store! I jumped with glee and ran into the store smelling everything! I tried to control myself and thanks to my boo boo, I only got  a bath and body soap of Sexy Peel, a fresh lemony soap, and the Bubble Gum lipscrub, which I didn’t even know you can eat, and I wanted the whole store. The soap was $6 for a quarter pound and the lipscrub was $9. My boo boo got the Sandstone which has sand in it for great exfoliation.

We also watched the Hunger Games and took a trip to Griffith Observatory and had a fun time sightseeing.

I also have been “studying for finals” which usually means playing with my makeup, but I’ve been knitting scarves again. I bought 4 different colored yarns a forest green, which I made and gave to my grandmama, a teal blue, which I made and wear all the time, a coral, which I am making right now, and a true purple, which I will be making after the coral. I want to be done with them hopefully by this weekend so I can have them part of a photoshoot, if I finish making my spring skirts.
